Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Umair has directed the Assistant Commissioners of four Tehsils to take strict action against and impose heavy fines on the petrol pumps across the district for violating the rates fixed by the government for petroleum products.
According to the reports, there were complaints that despite the decrease in the prices of petroleum products by the Federal government, some petrol pumps in Dera Ismail Khan were still selling petroleum products at higher rates besides low quantity.
Assistant Commissioners today raided petrol pumps across the district wherein the quantity and quality of petroleum products, as well as prices, were checked. An amount of Rs 95,000 was imposed as heavy fine on various petrol pumps across the district who were selling the products at Rs 2 per liter high rates than the prices fixed by the government.
The deputy commissioner directed all Assistant Commissioners to provide relief to the people and profiteers should be dealt with an strict hand.
