Cristiano Ronaldo | Best Goals Skills Assists

Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the best player to ever play the game. Only Lionel Messi fans probably have the right to argue this.
Ronaldo’s career numbers are unmatched and speak of his greatness. The Portuguese superstar pretty much holds every goalscoring record in football. He became the highest goalscorer in international football last week when he broke Ali Daei’s record of 109 international goals.
However, Ronaldo took his first steps towards greatness at Manchester United, a club where he arrived as a teenager with plenty of raw skills but still unsure of himself. But slowly, under the astute management of Sir Alex Ferguson, Ronaldo developed into a superstar. Old Trafford had plenty of them over the years, but Ronaldo was right there among the best.
But what he went on to achieve at Real Madrid and later at Juventus was almost superhuman. His Manchester United records appear pale in comparison, but they are still nothing short of staggering.
As Ronaldo returns to Manchester United this time as a 37-year-old, here’s a look back at his Old Trafford legacy.

Ronaldo joined Manchester United after breaking his two-year-long stint with Juventus. It was widely reported that Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to leave Juventus and was quite close to joining Manchester City.
But then at the end, Ronaldo landed with the Red Devils. Ronaldo is expected to debut for United for the match against Newcastle which will be held on September 11, 2021.
What will Cristiano Ronaldo's Man Utd shirt number be?
1 commentAugust 27, 2021
Friday, August 27, 2021Cristiano Ronaldo has now made a sensational return to his former home of Old Trafford, having signed for Manchester United for an initial £13 million (€15m/$18m) fee with add-ons of up to £7m (€8m/$9m).
The striker had informed Juventus coach Max Allegri of his desire to leave Serie A for opportunities elsewhere, and while Manchester City seemed to be the favourites to sign him, it was Man Utd who won the race.
Ronaldo is famed for his relationship with the number seven, but what shirt will he wear at Manchester United? Goal takes a look at the possibilities, the options available as well as Ronaldo's squad number history.
What shirt number will Cristiano Ronaldo wear at Man Utd?
It has not yet been confirmed which number Ronaldo will wear at Man Utd.
Ronaldo has long been synonymous with the number seven, and has even built his entire brand under the 'CR7' name
Currently, the number seven at Manchester United – which Ronaldo has previously worn during his first spell – is being occupied by Edinson Cavani.
The issue would be resolved should Cavani end up leaving Man Utd this window, but Goal can confirm that the Uruguay international's future is still firmly in Manchester.
Ronaldo would likely not be happy to wear a number that isn't seven, a number that has also been worn by United club legends such as David Beckham, George Best, Denis Law, Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson.
But for now, the number is currently unavailable to the Portugal captain.
The number nine (Anthony Martial), which Ronaldo has also worn in the past, is currently taken.
What shirt numbers are available to Cristiano Ronaldo at Man Utd?
Currently, should Ronaldo be unable to take up number seven, he would have to make do with one of the following available numbers: 12, 15, 24, 30, 31, 33, 35.
What numbers has Cristiano Ronaldo worn before?
Though Ronaldo has built his entire career around his favoured number seven, it wasn't always the number that he was associated with.
He wore the number 28 during his career at Sporting Lisbon, and it was his preferred number when he signed for Man Utd under the management of Six Alex Ferguson in 2004.
It was Ferguson who persuaded Ronaldo to take up the iconic number seven jersey, due to his confidence that the forward could reach the same astronomical heights as previous wearers of the shirt.
Indeed, a new era began at Old Trafford when Ronaldo assumed the number seven shirt, and the rest is history.
Ronaldo did have to initially make do with the number nine shirt when he transferred to Real Madrid in 2009, until the number seven was vacated by club legend Raul, who left for Schalke in 2010.

Thursday, August 26, 2021Both sides have taken six points from their opening two fixtures and between them could well present the biggest threats to Manchester City’s title defence.
Chelsea, buoyed by Uefa Super Cup success and the re-signing of Romelu Lukaku, have won London derbies against Crystal Palace and Arsenal as they look to continue their progress under Thomas Tuchel from the back end of last season.
They face their toughest test to date though, against a Liverpool side who have looked back near their title-winning best of a couple of years ago, with Virgil van Dijk restored to the heart of defence for wins over Burnley and newly-promoted Norwich.

Scotland international Andrew Robertson was back on the substitutes bench for the win over Norwich last weekend and could come back into the lineup despite the decent form of Kostas Tsimikas in his absence.
Romelu Lukaku marked his second Chelsea debut with a goal in the win over Arsenal and will be expected to lead the line again, while N’Golo Kante returned from injury as a substitute in the same game.

Liverpool vs Chelsea prediction
Both sides have been flawless so far, picking up six points without really hitting top gear. A draw would do little damage to either side’s early momentum and it would be no surprise to see this one end all-square.

No commentsFrom ecstasy to agony, or will the high carry on? Fresh off the back of the biggest win under Mikel Arteta’s reign and the highest scoring away victory since 2001, Arsenal are suddenly in far higher spirits than they were but a few hours ago.
Putting West Brom to the sword with a resounding 6-0 victory, it may be a somewhat lazy description to make but everything about Wednesday night was near perfect.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ended his goal drought in spectacular fashion with a hat-trick; Aaron Ramsdale and Martin Odegaard impressed on their debuts; the defence kept a sorely needed clean sheet; and Arteta actually smiled post-match.
Is that all about to come crashing down before our very eyes on Saturday? Without being overly pessimistic, probably.
The players at the Hawthorns did what senior players worth large amounts of money playing for a club of Arsenal’s stature were expected to do against a Championship side’s second string. Enjoying the moment as we all should (not just an actual goal, but six actual goals!) reality does need setting in as the Premier League champions loom on their imperious home turf.
After defeats to Brentford and Chelsea the result, collective performance and individual escapades do, however, place Arsenal in their best possible frame of mind to journey to the Etihad and leave with a favourable scoreline. One would be foolish not to take a point were it offered, mind.
Have the headlines been pre-written? The chants of ridicule already permeated through the Emptyhad terraces? Have all the troll accounts on Twitter started punching away at their banter?
Not yet. They may have already saved a few drafts, practised their songs in the shower and thought about their headlines.
Man City vs Arsenal Team News – Saka Suffers a Worrying Knock
Arteta was able to call upon some of his senior stars against West Brom, fielding a very strong side in the midlands as his desire for a moral-boosting victory came to fruition.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now fit and firing after playing 76 minutes, while there was also a good run out for Alexandre Lacazette as he made his own return from COVID-19. Only one is likely to feature this weekend, and you’d confidently assume it’s the former.
Bukayo Saka also somewhat surprisingly played the full 90 minutes after looking leggy against Chelsea, and he’s clearly up to speed, while Albert Sambi Lokonga’s absence was merely for rotational purposes. Arteta did confirm Saka suffered a knock against the Baggies though, and will be assessed pre-Saturday.
Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares were joined by Kieran Tierney in being left out of the squad entirely, although all three are thought to be in contention for Saturday.
Other absentees remain in similar positions, with Ben White (asymptomatic and a possibility), Gabriel, Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah all still missing. Willian, meanwhile, might be gone by then.
As for the hosts, some good news for Arsenal is that Kevin De Bruyne won’t make it in time to be fit having missed the Norwich win, while Phil Foden is also not due back until after the international break.
Still, not like they just spent £100m on Jack Grealish and left out Rahem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez from the starting lineup last time out. No. Not at all.
Arsenal Predicted Lineup to Face Premier League Champions Man City
Arsenal: Leno; Chambers, Holding, Mari, Tierney; Sambi, Xhaka; Pepe, Odegaard, Saka; Aubameyang
Man City: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo; Grealish, Sterling, Mahrez
Manchester City vs Arsenal Score Prediction
Wednesday night was fun. Really good fun.
So what if the opposition weren’t Premier League calibre? Should we care? No. We’ve needed a bit of cheer, wherever it would come from. What one mustn’t do, however, is let that win cloud judgement: Manchester City are excellent and Arsenal are not.
While Harry Kane was sat weeping over his faux gentleman’s agreement with Tottenham, this fixture usually plays out as if one has been pre-signed between both managers. Generally, City and Arsenal get to play a fair bit of football with the condition that those in sky blue take the three points and don’t embarrass their opponents.
Will there be any resting sentiment for Arteta’s men on Saturday? Absolutely not.
Having fallen to defeat at Tottenham before hitting Norwich for five, another resounding win on home soil will be on the City agenda.
This is a fixture where Thomas Partey’s absence will be keenly felt. Having Aubameyang look like Aubameyang again and Saka (who is hopefully fit) back at his best is hugely beneficial, but the Ghanaian’s spatial awareness is something Sambi hasn’t quite mastered yet. He still needs to get up to the speed with Premier League midfield runners.
It’s going to be tough. But the season won’t be decided on these matches. It could be defined, though.
Signing Cristiano Ronaldo was a mistake: Former Juventus chairman
No commentsAugust 24, 2021

Former Juventus chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has boldly claimed signing Cristiano Ronaldo was a mistake. He believes it would be best for the Serie A club if he leaves soon.
Cristiano Ronaldo was signed from Real Madrid in 2018 for a reported £100 million fee. The Italian side were keen on winning the Champions League but have not managed to do so, even with the Portuguese star in the side.
With rumors suggesting Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for an exit, former Juventus chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli wants the deal to be done soon. He added that the Portuguese star 'hampers' their attacks and the Italian side play better when he is off the pitch.
Giovanni Cobolli Gigli told SerieANews:
"I've always been honest: signing Ronaldo was a mistake. It's impossible to recoup the investment and it will remain that way. He's a great player, but I have to be honest – the sooner he leaves, the better for him and for Juventus.
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly working on leaving Juventus before the transfer window closes this month. PSG and Manchester City have been linked with the former Real Madrid star."I hope that Massimiliano Allegri knows how to continue using him like he did against Udinese. That is, with intelligence and when the game is in progress. Ronaldo hampers Juventus' attack. Without him, they can do excellent things in collective terms."
Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is not the only one asking Juventus to sell Cristiano Ronaldo. Former midfielder Massimo Mauro was speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this year when he urged the club to sell the Portuguese star.
“Ronaldo has never been a leader where he has played and he never will be. He is like a company and his turnover is more important to him than the success of the team. Cristiano doesn’t drag his team-mates along with him, he always wants them to give him the ball to score goals. He is a great individualist, he is not a team player," Mauri had said.
Cristiano Ronaldo had joined Juventus on a 4-year deal and has scored 101 goals for them so far.
